Bienfang®, a division of Elmer's Products, Inc., is pleased to announce local and industry recognition for our ongoing
commitment to environmental protection and sustainable practice implementation. Our continued, cultural dedication
makes our communities safer, cleaner environments for future generations to enjoy. From the office to the workplace
and classroom, we integrate award-winning sustainable initiatives into our daily routines.
As a result of our workplace initiatives, the Charlotte Regional Air Quality Board “Clean Air Works!” Project has
honored us with the 2008 Outstanding New Partner Award. By using our best available resources, we influenced
employees to use commute options and reduce trips and we enacted a “No Idling” Policy to our receiving area. We
also displayed a robust effort and commitment to Clean Air Works! in the first year of programming. In even further
recognition, Bienfang received a nomination for the Innovation Award as a result of the employee high-efficiency light
bulb purchase program.
Our workplace commitment continues daily through the following practices:
- Providing all employees with a safe and healthy working environment
- Promoting sustainable practices, such as recycling and using energy efficient light bulbs and
programmable thermostats, within our workplace
- Offering our employees educational opportunities so they may have the knowledge to integrate
environmental responsibility into their daily lives
- Forming a Sustainability Team that encompasses all aspects of our business to assure:
- Our products and methods meet and or exceed industry standards
- We meet the current environmental, health and safety requirements of our customers and
employees; as well as anticipating future requirements
- Partnering with retailers, suppliers and customers to explore and integrate methods to reduce waste
and promote recycling
- Establishing appropriate guidelines to reduce product packaging and promote usage of recycled
materials
- Maintaining a rigorous corporate review policy within the supply chain process that evaluates and tracks
our sourcing partners for compliance to federal and industry environmental standards

Our category leadership in graphic display products reinforces the belief that responsible actions lead to long-term
success. We assure that our products, when used as intended, are safe throughout their entire life cycle. In an effort
to reduce our environmental footprint, where applicable, our products contain an industry-leading percentage of
recycled content. Also, our foaming agent is 100 percent ozone-friendly and our process is formaldehyde-free.
In the manufacture of Bienfang Vacuum and Mechanical Presses our process and components are lead-free, and in
compliance with the RoHS Directive. Additionally, all export equipment is labeled in accordance with the WEEE
Directive. We ensure environmentally sound cradle-to-grave practices.
With the resulting combination of cutting-edge technologies and processes implemented toward internal sustainability
efforts, the Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) has named Bienfang a 2008 Environmental Recognition
Award recipient. SGIA’s Environmental Recognition Award, in its eighth year, highlights member companies that
have established clear goals for reducing their environmental impact.
By establishing concise goals, Bienfang and SGIA have collaboratively recognized the industry’s environmental
challenges. As a result of solving these challenges, we have risen to the top of the industry in environmental
performance.
Furthermore, Elmer’s Products, Inc., our parent company, executes a nationwide, classroom-based recycling
program. The Elmer’s Glue Crew Recycling Program™ combines Elmer’s expertise in education and creativity with its
commitment to sustainable practices. Throughout the school year, participating classrooms, known as the Elmer’s
Glue Crew, collect empty glue bottles and glue sticks to be recycled at their nearest Wal-Mart.
